Digital Compression Testing Machine

The Compression Testing Machine consists of a base plate and steel cross head tightened by tension rods. The hydraulic jack, inside the cover is fixed on the base plate. The lower platen rests centrally on the hydraulic jack.

The Compression Testing Machine consists of a base plate and steel cross head tightened by

With and tension rods. The hydraulic jack, inside the cover is fixed on the base plate. The lower platen rests centrally on the hydraulic jack. The lower platen can be removed and spacer can be placed on the hydraulic jack to reduce the gap between the upper and lower platens for smaller specimens.

The spacers are centrally located by means of centre locating pins. The lower platen canal then is kept on the spacer guided centrally by means of centre locating pins.

A screw passes through the cross head which can be raised or lowered to adjust the clearance

Between the two platens. The upper platens are attached to the lead screw. The upper platen has got spherical seat for the self-aligning action. A handle is attached to the adjustment screw for ease in operation. A cover is provided around hydraulic jack is prevent a no dust going inside the cylinder.

The motorized pumping unit is multiple plunger type. The pump is coupled to an electric motor

by means of V-belt and is housed in the cabinet. It has facility for

  •  Zero adjustment
  • Peak value which is shown by pressing peak push button and it is retained till reset button is pressed.
  • For fresh reading reset button should be pressed.

 

The slow fast knob is provided to control the flow rate which in turn control the rate of loading the electronic unit connected with the transducer.

Automatic cut off switch has been provided which will switch off the machine if in case load

exceeds the maximum load (for which the machine is designed)

The OFF-ON push button and the pressure release valve are mounted on the front panel for easy

operation. The rate of loading can be controlled by adjusting the knob valves.

A hand operated pump is also fixed inside the cabinet and is operated by inserting the handle in

the bracket thro the slot the pump may be operated in case the power supply fails during a test.

The unit is intended for use of 440 volts, 50 Hz. and 3 Phase supply. The main can be connected through the junction box.
